Musculoskeletal disorders currently represent one of the main causes of morbidity in industries, many of which are attributed to biomechanical risk factors (forced postures, repetitive movements, manual handling of loads, etc.). Materials and methods. A descriptive study was carried out on 10 workers in the plastics reprocessing area of an industry in Guayaquil; the Nordic questionnaire was applied to determine the presence of musculoskeletal discomfort and the REBA methodology for the determination of postural load. Results. 80% of the workers to whom the Nordic questionnaire was applied reported musculoskeletal symptomatology; older workers reported entirely injuries at the cervical, dorsal and lumbar spine. The application of the REBA methodology considered 50% of the positions at risk, which is why interventions are recommended. Conclusion. It is important to highlight that there is a greater tendency to the appearance of skeletal muscle symptoms in workers with exposure to forced postures, which could be increased if we consider age and seniority. It is necessary to implement training programs and improvements in jobs, which will significantly reduce the incidence of musculoskeletal disorders.es
