El ferrocarril y su utilización a nivel mundial en la actualidad

Abstract

El turismo en la actualidad ha llegado a convertirse en una de las más importantes actividades generadoras de ingresos y rentabilidades. La necesidad del hombre de viajar a otros destinos fuera de su hábitat, ha permitido el desarrollo y crecimiento constante de esta joven actividad. Son muchos los países que fomentan y dependen de la difusión del turismo. Los índices de ingreso de turistas a dichos destinos son increíbles, mas esto se compensa con el servicio, atención y variedad que se ofrece. El ferrocarril ha hecho su aparición desde tiempos remotos, siempre fue considerado un medio de transporte importante para toda la humanidad. Actualmente, este medio de movilización es utilizado como tal y por sus originales características para el fomento de la actividad turística. Alrededor de todo el mundo existen un sin número de vías férreas, que utilizadas ya sea para transporte de pasajeros, carga o para los paseos turísticos, son consideradas de real importancia para el desarrollo mundial. Parte crucial de la historia del Ecuador constituye la construcción del ferrocarril, siendo a la vez uno de los factores más importantes para el actual desarrollo del país. Este medio de transporte, era considerado en la época como el mejor servicio social, pese a todos los contratiempos que se suscitaron. Con el paso del tiempo, el ferrocarril ecuatoriano fue deteriorándose, y en los últimos años ha entrado en una verdadera crisis. Parte de esto se debe a la falta de interés y abandono casi total por parte de los gobiernos de turno y a la ausencia de incentivos que ayuden al progreso de este medio. El actual Gobierno Interino, busca soluciones prácticas para la modernización y generación de este medio de transporte. Se están realizando estudios y fomentando un proyecto llamado "Nuevo Plan de Acción del Sistema Ferroviario Ecuatoriano" dirigido por el CONAM. Por su parte el Ministerio de Turismo ha tratado de apoyar al ferrocarril para que se convierta en un medio turístico de gran aporte para el país. El ferrocarril ecuatoriano, por sus innumerables características y originalidad, se convierte en un gran atractivo turístico en sí. Los paisajes que se ofrece y la diversidad de lugares y climas que se pueden observar, ha fomentado el interés de muchos turistas que se quedan perplejos ante este paseo. Por todo esto, al ferrocarril se lo debe considerar como un gran medio para promover el turismo, ya que en la actualidad el país no posee una diversificación en este aspecto. Los esfuerzos solamente se han centralizado en el desarrollo de ciertas actividades y no se ha dado la suficiente importancia turística a este medio de movilización. En base a una buena planificación, dirección y gestionamiento; además de la coordinación por parte de los sectores público y privado, el ferrocarril podría constituirse en uno de los mayores generadores turísticos del país. Se desarrollarían otra clase de actividades obteniendo más puestos de trabajo y por ende mejores niveles de vida y beneficios.
