The process of evolution through which journeys have traveled and displacements of people; from those first made in the antiquity until the tourism of our days there has been a great change for a series of factors such as political, economic, social, cultural and especially technological in the field of transport and communications. The tourist phenomenon has become the economic activity that most contributes to the world economy, which produces more direct and indirect jobs and in many countries it is the first currency generator. It is also a product of many studies and analyzes that try to contribute to growth ordered from this "industry without chimneys". Throughout this process the tastes and preferences of travelers also In addition, the numerous offer that we have today has been modified in day has caused a great competition where it is increasingly difficult survive if you do not take into account trends in demand, which is increasingly more demanding, and other factors such as efficiency, excellence, quality and sustainability Given the globalization of markets, given the great concern for environment and for sustainable development, which goes beyond the conservation of nature, Ecuador sees itself in the obligation and necessity of search and propose a tourist offer that makes it a competitive destination, since despite the worldwide development of tourism and the growing number of tourists who travel every year, in our country have not been made market studies or adequate planning to allow for growth considerable activity. It is time for all those who direct or indirectly they are involved in it take the necessary measures so that tourism becomes a profitable and beneficial activity for the whole country, otherwise in the next century we will continue to capture minimum quotas of market and activity will remain secondary within the country's economy. This is the objective of this investigation: to demonstrate that our country has not known to adapt to market trends and try to find the way to propose a competitive tourist offer that is in accordance with the demand, that can face the new challenges and market conditions, in addition to allowing a sustainable development of the activity that contributes to the growth of Ecuador.
