Investing means risking money in the present waiting for money in the future with a reward; investments are often made in tangible assets and financial investments (financial assets such as contracts, stock papers or bonds). Currently, and mainly in the international arena, there is a large investment market for financial capital assets in which large amounts of money are handled by a large number of investors seeking to grow their money. But the performance of investments in securities, such as stocks, is uncertain, which leads to a level of risk and investors will look for ways to maximize their investments with a specific risk which they are willing to assume, or to minimize the risk after establishing a specific expected profitability. Thanks to this, investment portfolios or portfolios have been formed that seek to reduce risk through mathematical calculations and theories such as the Model of Harry Markowitz who developed the modern theory of the portfolio in 1952 that helps us to select the ideal financial assets that will make up an investment portfolio. Currently in Ecuador there are about $ 300 million dollars in investment funds offered to the public and in the banks that usually make money tables and handle portfolios, it approaches $ 1000 million. At the same time there are investors who will seek to invest in securities abroad, either personally or for a company, and knowledge about the optimization of their investments is necessary for a good development and management of finances, being clear that a portfolio Optimal will always be different from other, because it depends on the expectations of each client.-
