Abstract: | El Distrito Metropolitano de Quito se caracteriza por ser
una ciudad que presenta una problemática en cuanto a
equipamientos culturales y a áreas de recreación. La
concentración de equipamientos en el centro de la ciudad y la
falta de actividades en los parques barriales y parroquiales,
ha llevado a los ciudadanos a recorrer mayores distancias
para satisfacer sus necesidades. Es por esto que el Centro de
Desarrollo Comunitario se establece como un lugar de
proximidad, que estimula el encuentro, las expresiones
culturales y el actuar social de la comunidad.
Luego de realizar un análisis urbano de la parroquia de
La Kennedy se determina la propuesta de plan masa dentro
del parque John F. Kennedy, con el fin de insertar actividades
de varios tipos complementarias a la recreación, en donde los
usuarios puedan apropiarse del sector y generar un estado de
pertenencia.
El proyecto arquitectónico se implanta como un nodo
de conexión entre el espacio público y el parque. Permite que
los usuarios establezcan vínculos entre lo público y lo privado.
De esta manera se genera un espacio activo donde se
desarrolla el encuentro y la identificación de las personas y la
