Diseño de un centro cultural en el Chaquiñan situado en la parroquia de Tumbaco

Abstract

El Centro Cultural se sitúa en la parroquia de Tumbaco, y está dirigido a los jóvenes de dicha parroquia. El centro cultural se establece en el chaquiñán, debido a su acceso y su vinculación con las 2 parroquias aledañas Cumbaya y Puembo. Lo que pretende este proyecto es generar espacios abiertos públicos, donde los jóvenes y los usuarios externos se vinculen con el paisaje y desarrollen diversas actividades culturales con el afán de apropiarse del lugar. Se desarrolla 4 espacios principales de acuerdo al análisis urbano previamente realizado: el museo, la biblioteca, el auditorio, y los talleres. Dichos espacios se relacionaran a través de una plaza central y las circulaciones internas y externas limitan la misma. El recorrido es parte fundamental del proyecto, dicho recorrido genera morfológicamente los espacios e invita al usuario a recorrer y descubrirlos. Los espacios son ubicados en el proyecto de acuerdo a las cualidades funcionales que cada uno requiere, por este motivo se utilizan los arquetipos tectónicos y estereotómicos. En conclusión, se pretende hacer una arquitectura para recorrer y contemplar, los elementos determinantes del proyecto son: el borde de quebrada, el chaquiñán y el recorrido prexistente en lugar. Con dichos componentes el centro cultural pretende establecerse como un hito simbólico que represente a la parroquia de Tumbaco.

The Cultural Center is located in the parish of Tumbaco, and is aimed at the young people of that parish. The cultural center is established in the chaquiñán, due to its access and its connection with the 2 neighboring parishes Cumbaya and Puembo. What this project intends is to generate public open spaces, where young people and external users are linked to the landscape and develop various cultural activities with the aim of appropriating the place. 4 main spaces are developed according to the previously conducted urban analysis: the museum, the library, the auditorium, and the workshops. These spaces will be related through a central square and the internal and external circulations limit it. The route is a fundamental part of the project, this route morphologically generates the spaces and invites the user to explore and discover them. The spaces are located in the project according to the functional qualities that each one requires, for this reason the tectonic and stereotomic archetypes are used. In conclusion, it is intended to make an architecture to travel and contemplate, the determining elements of the project are: the edge of the stream, the chaquiñán and the pre-existing route in place. With these components, the cultural center aims to establish itself as a symbolic landmark that represents the parish of Tumbaco.
