Description: The present project presents the study of Savonius wind turbines of cycloid profile and circular profile to compare them in low speed winds. At the beginning of the introduction, the importance of the study of wind turbines is pointed out, and what is expected to be achieved, the specific and general objectives are also considered. A brief historical review of the wind turbines is reported, to continue with a general classification of them. To continue it describes the Savonius wind turbines and their constituent parts. Then the human, technical and material resources needed for the study are presented. Then the procedure performed during the study is described. The study continues with concepts and definitions that involve the study of Savonius wind turbines. To continue, the conditions that the studied wind turbines must meet are described. Then the design of the wind turbines is presented. The tests are carried out, from which the results are obtained and in this way we conclude with the discussion where the conclusions and recommendations are treated.
