Comportamiento hídrico de la Laguna Limoncocha y su relación con el Río Napo

Abstract

En base a una serie de investigaciones realizadas por la Facultad de Ciencias Ambientales de la UISEK en la Reserva Biológica de Limoncocha, principalmente en la “Morfometría e Hidrología de la Laguna Limoncocha” elaborada por Villalba F. & Revelo G. en el 2012 , donde se planteó que la laguna tiene un desbalance hídrico y que existe un cuerpo de agua desconocido que la alimenta, la presente investigación tiene como propósito entender el comportamiento hídrico de la laguna y su relación con el río Napo. Para este fin, se escogieron 9 puntos de muestreo donde se midieron parámetros fisicoquímicos como: pH, conductividad, oxígeno disuelto, temperatura, profundidad Secchi y caudal. De estos puntos, se seleccionó 6 ubicados dentro de la laguna y sus aportantes (río Pishira, río Playayacu y vertientes), en los cuales se analizó la concentración de nitratos, fósforo total y clorofila. Igualmente se recopiló bibliográficamente datos de precipitación y temperatura de las estaciones meteorológicas más cercanas al lugar de estudio, para la elaboración de diagramas ombrotérmicos que permitieron identificar épocas de alta precipitación y épocas de sequía. Adicionalmente se utilizaron datos de isotopos estables a partir de muestras de agua provenientes de precipitaciones, río Napo, laguna y sus tributarios. Una vez compilada y analizada la información antes mencionada, se obtuvo que la laguna de Limoncocha se relaciona con el río Napo por isotopos estables y por inundaciones, asimismo se confirmó a través una prospección de terreno la existencia de un cuerpo de agua que alimenta a la laguna.

Based on a series of research conducted by the Faculty of Sciences Environment of the UISEK in the Biological Reserve of Limoncocha, mainly in the "Morphometry and Hydrology of the Limoncocha Lagoon" elaborated by Villalba F. & Revelo G. in 2012, where it was stated that the lagoon has a water imbalance and that there is an unknown body of water that feeds it, the present investigation has as a purpose to understand the water behavior of the lagoon and its relationship with the Napo river. For this purpose, 9 sampling points were chosen where they were measured Physicochemical parameters such as: pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, temperature, Secchi depth and caudal. From these points, 6 were selected located within the lagoon and its contributors (Pishira river, Playayacu river and streams), in which analyzed the concentration of nitrates, total phosphorus and chlorophyll. It was also compiled bibliographically data of precipitation and temperature of the stations meteorological stations closest to the place of study, for drawing diagrams ombrothermic that allowed to identify periods of high precipitation and epochs of drought. In addition stable isotope data were used from samples of water coming from rainfall, Napo river, lagoon and its tributaries. Once compiled and analyzed the aforementioned information, it was obtained that the lagoon of Limoncocha is related to the Napo River by stable isotopes and floods, It was also confirmed through a field survey the existence of a body of water that feeds the lagoon.
