Abstract: En este trabajo de investigación se analiza la tendencia de comportamiento de los indicadores macroeconómicos considerados en el desarrollo del modelo teórico para conseguir un análisis objetivo del impacto creado por la dolarización. Se lo realizó en base a un estudio estadístico proponiendo un quiebre estructural en la tendencia de las variables mediante el test de estabilidad de Chow. Es importante para esta tesis presentar un escenario histórico como antecedente que permita comprender los factores y el proceso previo a la dolarización. En 1999 Ecuador atravesó una de las crisis más profundas en la historia del país, a partir de esto se tomó la decisión de adoptar al dólar como moneda oficial en la economía garantizando así preservar la estabilidad y disminuir los índices de inflación alcanzados debido a la crisis. En su etapa final la tesis busca poner en consideración al lector una serie de recomendaciones necesarias para mantener una dolarización estable y sólida; además de mantener vivo un recuerdo que marcó la vida de millones de ecuatorianos y que debe ser tomado como una lección para mejorar e impulsar la economía de un país tan privilegiado como es Ecuador.
Description: This research paper analyzes the behavior trend of the macroeconomic indicators considered in the development of the theoretical model to achieve an objective analysis of the impact created by dollarization. It was carried out based on a statistical study proposing a structural break in the trend of the variables through the Chow stability test. It is important for this thesis to present a historical scenario as a background to understand the factors and the process prior to dollarization. In 1999 Ecuador went through one of the deepest crises in the history of the country, from this the decision was taken to adopt the dollar as an official currency in the economy, thus guaranteeing stability and reducing inflation rates reached due to the crisis . In its final stage, the thesis seeks to put into consideration the reader a series of recommendations necessary to maintain a stable and solid dollarization; In addition to keeping alive a memory that marked the lives of millions of Ecuadorians and that should be taken as a lesson to improve and boost the economy of a country as privileged as Ecuador.
