The concept of Occupational Safety and Health, has been gestating through history initially in a separate and uncorrelated way. It is so that since the appearance of the Primitive Community, having diversified in the workplace, incipient postulates are outlined around security. In the Ancient Age, there is a treatment to health but from the field of medicine, to deal with the diseases of the slaves, who were those who performed the productive tasks. In the Middle Ages, meanwhile, the scientific right began to be turned around, beginning to outline occupational dye medicine and the treatment of occupational accidents by the fraternities. With the industrial revolution and the emergence of machinism unfolds intellectual movements that protect the fundamental principles of man. And the normative stratification, doctrinal constitution of security and occupational health and the construction of public systems in charge of absolving the innumerable topics that arose in this regard began. Thus, in 1919 the International Labor Organization was created, an organization in charge of establishing legal and technical regulations on occupational safety and health at work, international regulations of which Ecuador is a member and on the basis of which it has formulated its internal regulations. Occupational safety and health mainly in the Labor Code. Today a global development is seen around the issue and even internationally the implementation of policies and legal standards for the prevention of occupational hazards and the improvement of the working environment is seen as an investment by employers . In Ecuador, public policies are currently being developed to disseminate, implement and improve the work environment and prevent occupational hazards linked to the Neo-constitutionalism of which we are a part.
