Centro de Formación y Capacitación Artesanal para la Ciudad de Otavalo

Abstract

El proyecto de fin de carrera “Centro de Formación y Capacitación Artesanal” está ubicado en la provincia de Imbabura en la ciudad de Otavalo. El terreno escogido se encuentra ubicado al noroccidente de la ciudad de Otavalo entre las calles Luis Alberto de la Torre y Avenida Juan de Albarracín. El predio se conoce como la Antigua hacienda San Vicente. Tiene un área total de 26784.51 m2. La idea de este proyecto es la de diseñar un edificio que ayude a rescatar la cultura de esta ciudad en un espacio de educación y enseñanza de sus tradiciones artesanales que está considerada como patrimonio nacional. La artesanía otavaleña que es una de las principales manifestaciones de la cultura indígena, está seriamente afectada por la industrialización y carencia de planes educativos. La modernización esta aculturizando al indígena y este poco a poco está perdiendo sus valores ancestrales reemplazándolas con otros elementos impuestos por el mercantilismo extranjero. Se requiere crear una institución de rescate cultural, que enseñe el valor trascendental de la cultura, su importancia y la obligación de conservarla. El Centro de Capacitación se ha creado para que los jóvenes otavaleños puedan capacitarse en prácticas tradicionales y así a más de heredar conocimiento del trabajo artesanal de sus padres puedan seguir perfeccionando sus habilidades y así llegar mucho más alto tanto en la fabricación como en la comercialización de sus productos. La casa de Hacienda San Vicente se la mantuvo intacta ya que está considerada como patrimonio cultural, se la utilizo como un museo donde se puede observar la historia de la artesanía de esta ciudad mas los trabajos realizados por sus estudiantes. Alrededor de esta se planteó el proyecto, es una edificación moderna que rodea la casa potenciando la importancia en la parte urbana como una respuesta arquitectónica. Se planteó una malla considerando las curvas de nivel del terreno ya que esta se adapta mejor al diseño arquitectónico y al área urbana

Around this the project was proposed, it is a modern building that surrounds the house enhancing the importance in the urban part as an architectural response. It was proposed a mesh considering the terrain level curves as this is better suited to the design architectural and urban area
