Abstract: Objectives: To determine the level of ergonomic risk due to forced postures in auxiliary nursing personnel in a critical emergency area; to identify the perception of musculoskeletal symptoms and expose the body segment with the highest perception of musculoskeletal symptoms from the Nordic Kuorinka questionnaire, for the detection and analysis of initial symptoms; Materials and Method: Descriptive study applied in the emergency area (COVID) of a Quito Hospital to 10 people who fulfill the role of nursing assistants as a consequence of the manipulation of the postural load of critical patients, the REBA and NÓRDICO method are used . Results: The analysis of the Nordic questionnaire determines the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms of 75.0% in anatomical regions of the neck, elbow and wrist, and 100.0% in the shoulder and thoracolumbar according to work experience between 5 and 10 years. Conclusion: The present study, carried out through the Kuorinka questionnaire, allowed to evaluate the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms and the ergonomic risk due to patient mobilization, obtaining as results 75.0% in the anatomical regions of the neck, elbow and wrist and shoulder and thoracolumbar 100.0%, this taking into consideration the work experience of 5 to 10 years. In the same way, through the REBA method, immediate action can be determined with respect to the score found in the level of high risk in the arm and wrist due to forced postures due to the manipulation of the critical patient.
