Abstract: Abstract: Workers are exposed daily to work accidents in itinere (WA in itinere) due to different factors, also constituting a problem of difficult control for organizations. Objective: to determine the socio-labor and economic impact derived from the WA in Itinere in the health staff of an Ecuadorian hospital, during the 2017-2018 period. Materials and Methods: Exploratory study, of transversal cut, carried out from the registry of the WA in itinere reported in a Hospital located in Quito during the study period. Results: 12 AT in itinere, in nursing assistants, women between the ages of 25 and 54, with a working age of 1 to 3 years, with musculoskeletal disorders being the main diagnosis reported, which led to 219 days of absenteeism reaching a total cost of $ 10,027.65 for medical care and / or rehabilitation. Conclusion: It is considered that there is underreporting of WA in itinere in hospital staff. A door is opened for new epidemiological work at different levels of health care, and this study can also be replicated in other organizations, where the social and human impact caused by this type of accident was evaluated
Description: Resumen: Los trabajadores se encuentran expuestos diariamente a sufrir accidentes de trabajo in itinere (AT in itinere) debido a diferentes factores, constituyendo además un problema de difícil control para las organizaciones.
