It is necessary to take into account aspects related to its application and compatibility, as well as the durability and nature of the materials as well as the environment to which it is exposed. In accordance with the requirements that must be met, the design, technological aspects, the way of manufacturing and the commissioning of the work as such will be handled. The paradigm of current times takes for itself the industrial practices and procedures based on research and concrete experiences in the context of science and technological development. In this study, the aim is to analyze the Totora and the Chonta as efficient materials for their implementation in the architectural design of a cultural center in the Otavalo canton. For this, a qualitative and quantitative research has been carried out with an explanatory approach where the real possibilities of the use of the Totora and the Chonta in the construction of the mentioned cultural center.
