Description: Biomechanical risks in work areas worldwide and the management of semi-automatic equipment maintain the presence of man for the use of different interfaces. Pain is one of the initial indicators that guide the identification of discomfort or alteration of health. This article analyzes the biomechanical risk in the work activity of the surveyors who operate the TRIMBLE-R6 GPS by identifying the muscular pain present in these workers, for this a cross-sectional, descriptive study was carried out. The population of operational surveyors in the topography department of a Provincial Council of Ecuador was studied. The identification and evaluation of pain was done through the Nordic Questionnaire of Kourinka. The REBA and RULA measuring tools were used to evaluate the ergonomic risk factor. In the ergonomic risk assessment it was determined that the most punished body segments are neck and left arm, which coincides with the data found with the Nordic method, where it was identified that the highest incidence of pain is in workers older than 35 years with a working time over 10 years, of which 87.5% reported neck pain, in relation to the left arm (shoulder pain) 75% of the staff over 35 years and with more than 10 years of work present They are this pain. We must emphasize that all participants in the study are right-handed, therefore they have forced positions in the left limb. Research based on pain perception and ergonomic risk assessment concludes that there is a relationship between working time and age, so that pain appears in the areas of the neck and left shoulder. In addition, we must indicate that the lack of proper operation through the use of accessories (poles and position regulators of the POS) would eliminate the exposure of workers to the ergonomic risks identified in the study.
