Description: | The inner temperature that a car can reach due the external climatic conditions can be extremely high, between 25°C to 40°C in certain circumstances, for this reason several studies have been made in the field of the technology of new materials that allow to control the internal temperature of a car and reduce the effects that climate and environmental conditions have on it, this study presents an approach on the use of alternative materials chosen by a multicriteria selection process due its application as a thermal isolation, in order to prevent the inner temperature of the vehicle from rising when it is parked under the sun, in addition to prevent the heat from the inside to escape to the outside in reverse conditions. Through the multicriteria analysis the best material is determined among a list of candidate materials, this must fulfill the objective of control in a constant way the inner temperature of the car, taking in account that by using a thermal isolation based on a PCM electronic controls that regularize the inner temperature of the car won´t be needed, avoiding an increase in the cost of the car. The present study has determined that paraffin wax is the best PCM for this application, due to its melting point of 37°C. |
