Description: This project is based on the simulation of an air conditioning system of a light vehicle based on the finite volume method, considering air opening with minimum and maximum pressure of 35, 50, 80 and 125 psi. A 2012 Toyota Fortuner car was taken for the 3D design of the cab, the rear and front seats, the windows, the front windshield and the air intake of the A / C System. In addition, the tests carried out on the same vehicle were taken into account to compare the results and see if they are in accordance with reality. In addition, calculations are made for thermal loads for the roof, side doors, windshield and back to obtain the total load in the car that is equal 3129 W. In turn, internal cabin temperature of 27 ° C and speed of entry of air to the cabin for the above mentioned pressures. For the development of the simulation, the ANSYS WORKBENCH 18 software was used, obtaining the air inlet speed, cabin temperature and pressure inside the passenger compartment for comparison of results with the Matlab software. Therefore, for pressures of 30, 50, 80 and 125 Psi with Matlab, 512.22, 649.88, 861.87 and 1102.5 m / s respectively were calculated. On the other hand, for Ansys 18 the final speeds are 600, 690, 900 and 1000 m / s, deducting that at high pressures the results do not vary much. Finally, the temperature was compared with the air conditioning system and without it, which considering the pressure at sea level in Quito of 2800 masl on the highway with the simulation, a thermal sensation of the occupants is obtained from 27 ° C which means that the simulation of the project is close to reality, depending on the intensity that is placed on the automatic control of the board.
