Description: Currently, high definition microscopic analysis is used to analyze the particles. particles <1 μm, such as the EDAX, AFM or FTIR techniques that allow to observe in detail characteristics such as the composition, morphology and size of the particles. The present project is based on the characterization of the particles and nanoparticles of vehicular combustion processes, Grilled food grills and in the Optoelectronics laboratory of the Universidad del Quindío, in order to analyze the properties of the particles that may affect the health of the workers or people exposed to these particles. An observational descriptive study was carried out quali-quantitative and the analytical method NIOSH 7300 was used. The results were: the samples did not exceeded the concentration of 2.4 mg / m3. The concentration of the sample of the grill was 0.01 mg / m3 (SD = 215.5, MG = 301.6, DGE = 3.4 in nanoparticles, and DE = 0.46, MG = 1.73, DMG = 2.7 in microparticles). The sample taken in Optoelectronics was 0.034 mg / m3 (SD = 211, MG = 348.79, DGE = 4.3 in nanoparticles, and DE = 0.36, MG = 1.43, DMG = 2.6 in microparticles). And in the sample of a avenue was 1.47 mg / m3 (SD = 328.07, MG = 497.20, DGE = 9.4 in nanoparticles, and SD = 0.42, MG = 1.34, DMG = 2.5 in microparticles). The deposition of these particles in the human respiratory system occurs in the lower region of the respiratory tract and is likely to traverse the cell membranes of adjacent tissues, considered highly dangerous to the health of exposed people
