Abstract

En Ecuador, la discapacidad ocupa el 12.14% de la población total, el 18% de la totalidad de discapacitados no ha recibido ningún tipo de educación, el 8% accede a educación superior y tan solo el 1.2% ha utilizado algún medio como orientación profesional o capacitación laboral para conseguir empleo. En ciudades grandes, los discapacitados optan por la mendicidad para su sustento, mientras que otros permanecen en sus hogares y son maltratados por sus familiares. Existen terapias que mejoran substancialmente el desempeño de las personas con discapacidad, entre las cuales se puede mencionar la equinoterapia o terapia asistida por caballos y la hidroterapia o terapia en el agua. Estas terapias requieren espacios especiales e instructores especializados. La mayoría de centros para discapacitados no funcionan en condiciones óptimas, la mayoría son espacios adaptados en edificaciones existentes y construidas para otro fin, teniendo barreras arquitectónicas importantes y siendo un factor negativo tanto para el discapacitado como para el tratante. Otros espacios han sido construidos con barreras arquitectónicas y muy pocos cuentan con equinoterapia y/o hidroterapia. El proyecto ofrece un espacio para que las personas con discapacidad en edades comprendidas entre 5-19 puedan recibir educación, rehabilitación y capacitación laboral, así como un espacio de cuidado diario para personas con discapacidad severa. Además se ha incluido un espacio de residencia para alojar a niños y jóvenes de lugares alejados o para aquellos que no son bien aceptados por sus familias. Diseñado en la provincia de Pichincha, el proyecto puede ser construido en cualquier lugar del país y manejado a través de una entidad estatal o fundación.

These therapies require special spaces and specialized instructors. Most centers for the disabled do not work in optimal conditions, most are adapted spaces in existing buildings and built for another purpose, having important architectural barriers and being a negative factor for both the disabled and the trafficker. Other spaces have been built with architectural barriers and very few have equinotherapy and / or hydrotherapy. The project offers a space for people with disabilities between the ages of 5-19 to receive education, rehabilitation and job training, as well as a daily care space for people with severe disabilities. In addition, a residence space has been included to accommodate children and young people from distant places or for those who are not well accepted by their families. Designed in the province of Pichincha, the project can be built anywhere in the country and managed through a state entity or foundation.
