Abstract: La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo principal diseñar una guía a padres de adolescentes con discapacidad intelectual, los participantes fueron estudiantes, padres y madres de familia de la Fundación Camino Especial. Se evaluó las habilidades sociales mediante el instrumento Test ABAS-II propiedad intelectual de TEA Ediciones, S.A.U. Este instrumento está diseñado para personas con discapacidad y mide las habilidades sociales, llamadas también conducta adaptativa, relacionadas a las destrezas de la vida diaria. Los datos arrojados por el sistema informático del propio instrumento, demostraron que los estudiantes de la Fundación Camino Especial, presentan dificultad en el momento de relacionarse con el medio, tomando en cuenta que las habilidades sociales se han ligado como primera instancia a la familia, la institución más antigua de la humanidad e influyente en la vida de cada ser humano, en este colectivo los seres humanos aprenden las normas sociales y los valores de la vida. Finalmente, la guía tiene como propósito brindar herramientas a los padres para que puedan ayudar a sus hijos en las áreas que poseen mayor dificultad y que las mismas se conviertan en herramientas para superar los obstáculos que se presenten en la vida.
Description: The main objective of this research was to design a guide for parents of adolescents with intellectual disabilities, the participants were students, parents and mothers of the Camino Special Foundation. Social skills were assessed through the ABAS-II Test instrument intellectual property of TEA Ediciones, S.A.U. This instrument is designed for people with disabilities and measures social skills, also called adaptive behavior, related to the skills of daily life. The data thrown by the computer system of the instrument itself, showed that the students of the Fundacion Camino Especial, present difficulty when interacting with the environment, taking into account that social skills have been linked as a first instance to the family, the the oldest institution of humanity and influential in the life of every human being, in this collective human beings learn social norms and the values ​​of life. Finally, the purpose of the guide is to provide tools to parents so that they can help their children in areas that have greater difficulty and that they become tools to overcome obstacles that arise in life.
