Diseño de anteproyecto de un hospital psiquiátrico para Esmeraldas

Abstract

La dedicación de un espacio para el análisis de la ética y los derechos humanos de las personas con Enfermedades Mentales es fundamental dada la condición de vulnerabilidad del grupo, la urgencia de realizar un estudio para el diseño de un Hospital Psiquiátrico Día es para definir estrategias orientadas al cumplimiento de los derechos que les asisten, tal como lo declaran los principios y criterios mínimos de protección del enfermo mental. El trato humanitario, el respeto, la tolerancia, la integración y la dignidad humana deben llegar a ser realidades cotidianas para vivenciar y potencializar la rehabilitación y reinserción social de estas personas. En el Ecuador los Hospitales Psiquiátricos con los que actualmente contamos fueron construidos hace aproximadamente cincuenta años. En sus inicios se trataban de albergues para personas que vivían prácticamente en las calles en un estado de miseria, en realidad nunca fueron pensados ni diseñados como hospitales en sí. Eran más manicomios donde los pacientes eran encerrados y abandonados por sus familiares donde se los trataba de la manera menos adecuada en vez de recibir tratamientos. A partir de esto se crean los hospitales diseñados especialmente para cumplir con las funciones específicas de recuperación con el fin de que el paciente sea integrado a su vida normal y actividades cotidianas. El proyecto del diseño Hospital Día ha sido considerado debido que en la ciudad de Esmeraldas se encuentra la Unidad de Salud Mental que brinda los servicios limitados por su infraestructura. Este diseño mejorara la calidad de atención y el flujo de los usuarios a demás permitirá brinda la atención de emergencia con la observación de estadía corta y hospitalización prolongada. El hospital día se crea para dar una atención primaria en salud mental a todos los usuarios en diferentes ciclos de vida. El objetivo principal es diseñar un edificio cuya composición espacial y formal sea utilizada como un mecanismo de rehabilitación emocional y forme parte activa en el proceso de recuperación del individuo con desórdenes mentales.

The dedication of a space for the analysis of the ethics and human rights of people with Mental Illnesses is fundamental given the condition of vulnerability of the group, the urgency to carry out a study for the design of a Psychiatric Hospital Day is to define strategies oriented to the fulfillment of the rights that assist them, as declared by the principles and minimum criteria of protection of the mentally ill. The humane treatment, respect, tolerance, integration and human dignity must become daily realities to experience and potentiate the rehabilitation and social reintegration of these people. In Ecuador, the Psychiatric Hospitals with which we currently have been built approximately fifty years ago. In the beginning they were hostels for people who lived practically in the streets in a state of misery, in reality they were never thought of or designed as hospitals in themselves. They were more insane asylums where patients were locked up and abandoned by their relatives where they were treated in the most inappropriate way instead of receiving treatments. From this, hospitals specially designed to fulfill specific recovery functions are created in order for the patient to be integrated into his normal life and daily activities. The Hospital Day design project has been considered due to the fact that in the city of Esmeraldas there is a Mental Health Unit that provides services limited by its infrastructure. This design will improve the quality of care and the flow of users to others will provide emergency care with the observation of short stay and prolonged hospitalization. The day hospital is created to give a primary mental health care to all users in different life cycles. The main objective is to design a building whose spatial and formal composition is used as a mechanism of emotional rehabilitation and is an active part in the process of recovery of the individual with mental disorders.
