In the present thesis the alternatives of treatment to the sludge from a wastewater treatment plant an industry of paintings. The methods used are: Inerting with Lime and Solidification with cement and sand. In the sludge coming from the treatment plant, the physical-chemical analysis. Then the optimum mixture of lime-mud and cement-sand-mud through the leaching process characteristic of toxicity or TCLP, method standardized by the EPA. It was found that the optimal mixtures by weight for inertization is: 1 part of Lime - 2 parts of Mud, and for solidification is: 1 part of cement - 2 of mud - 5 parts of sand. Pollution rates are referred to maximum limits allowances proposed in the District's ordinance project Metropolitan of Quito for leachates. From the results obtained it was found that the optimal mixtures for inertization and solidification have values less than 1, which guarantees the efficiency of the treatments studied. |
