Abstract: Un proceso de Calificación de Riesgo comienza con una reunión de los directivos de la empresa emisora, y de la calificadora de riesgo, en esta reunión se aclaran las responsabilidades de cada uno, así como sus obligaciones. La calificadora de riesgo solicita al emisor una serie de datos informativos, los que serán examinados por esta para otorgar la calificación correspondiente. La información que esta calificadora requiere tiene que ver con información tanto general de la empresa, como son fecha de inscripción en el registro mercantil, RUC, plazo de duración, domicilio de la compañía, actas de juntas, nómina de accionistas, empresas vinculadas, objeto social, misión, visión, etc; Así como información financiera, la que tiene que ver con sus balances de resultados, balance general, flujo de caja, detalle de las cuentas que estos balances presentan, políticas de compra, venta, distribución de dividendos, etc. La información financiera debe contener proyecciones que abarquen el mismo período que la emisión, de esta manera la calificadora podrá efectuar las respectivas revisiones durante el plazo de la emisión. La calificadora requiere también información del mercado en el que Se desenvuelve la emisora, para lo que necesita datos de los productos o servicios que ofrece, sectores que cubre la empresa, principales competidores, clientes importantes, etc. Si la emisora es una empresa industrial, entonces tendrá que proporcionar información detallada de sus procesos de producción, de materias primas, (importancia de participación de las materias primas en la producción), mano de obra, maquinaria, tecnología utilizada, etc. Es muy importante que la información que se brinde a la calificadora sea certera, ya que la calificación no implica recomendación de compra, de retención, de venta, ni garantía sobre los pagos de la misma, solamente es una evaluación del riesgo del Título Valor. Una vez que la emisora haya entregado toda la información que la calificadora le solicitó, esta tiene un plazo de 10 a 15 días laborables para entregar la calificación, una vez entregada la calificación, la emisora tiene un plazo de 5 días hábiles para mostrar su aceptación ante la calificación otorgada,. En caso que la emisora no esté de acuerdo con la emisión, esta puede presentar los argumentos que apoyan su posición, debiendo la calificadora revisar la nueva información, o puede también suspender la emisión
