The project of contemporary popular architecture proposes the development of a self-sustainable village in the urban edge of Quito, which allows its insertion in the city through the programming of social housing, modular and productive in a field that reflects possibilities of sustainable and replicable development . The urban proposal aims to evolve the concept of housing with scarce economic, material and spatial resources, to integrate social sustainability with parameters of self-construction, self-sustainability and productivity, at the same time that seeks to articulate the scenarios of housing, work, meeting social, cultural and territorial development responding to the value of vegetation, crops and topography, considered as preponderant elements for the formation and development of settlements in the village. The village allows recreating forms of social coexistence where the relationship of mutual cooperation can provide a framework of group security, self-assessment of the individual and the whole, producing a structure of high social performance. The family, being part of a larger group, promotes the development and social integration of all its members. The basis of the community lies in the solidarity offered by the human group with which life and work are shared.-
