Abstract: El objetivo del presente estudio es identificar el empoderamiento de la mujer en el campo gerencial en empresas de Quito, además, observar e identificar las características de liderazgo. Para la recolección de datos se realizaron entrevistas a mujeres que actualmente están ocupando cargos a nivel gerencial, así como también encuestas a altos directivos empresariales para conocer un poco más respecto a la situación actual de la mujer en las organizaciones. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la participación de la mujer es cada vez más fuerte en el campo laboral y con tendencia a ocupar cargos gerenciales, dentro de los factores que influyen en su desarrollo está la maternidad, sin embargo, el estado ecuatoriano ha desarrollado políticas que garantizan la estabilidad laboral a las mujeres que se desempeñan como ejecutivas y madres al mismo tiempo. De igual manera las empresas están en proceso de cambio y adaptándose a las nuevas condiciones del mercado laboral donde no solo el varón está en la posibilidad de desarrollarse profesionalmente hasta cargos iv directivos sino que la mujer ya cuenta con las competencias para ocupar cargos gerenciales y dirigir equipos de trabajo.
Description: The objective of this study is to identify the empowerment of women in the management field in companies in Quito, in addition, observe and identify leadership characteristics. In order to collect data, interviews were conducted with women who are currently occupying positions at the managerial level, as well as surveys of senior business managers to learn a little more about the current situation of women in organizations. The results obtained show that the participation of women is increasingly strong in the labor field and tends to occupy managerial positions, within the factors that influence their development is motherhood, however, the Ecuadorian state has developed policies that guarantee job stability to women who work as executives and mothers at the same time. In the same way, companies are in the process of changing and adapting to the new labor market conditions where not only the male is able to develop professionally to positions iv managers, but the woman already has the skills to hold management positions and lead work teams.
