Description: In almost ten years of operation, the Sciences of the Communication school of the SEK International University, has not developed, systematically, an investigative axis that update the knowledge, reducing the subject to speculations on the uses of the communication. The investigative axis always relate with a paradigm with the end to update it, review it and, to be necessary, surpass it. Without paradigms the investigations lose legitimacy, and the theses could convert -in the best of the cases- in informative or formative tools, but not investigative. For that reason, it is necessary to promote the development of subject investigations to a paradigm, to the analysis of theories that reinforce the study of the communication under a coherent epistemic relation, methodical and methodological; what does not occur at present. To be like this, ¿How many theses of which today stay in the Library of the University have been subject to a paradigm and how many, afterwards of his investigation, has been taken in account for some academic use inside or out of the Institution? This thesis has treated to recover the memory of this School from his antecedents and, especially, investigative practicals. A work focus on distinguish the academic identity in a context of multiple offers and of institutional and social exigencies increasing (the process of accreditation and the excessive offer only to quote some). And from this recognition of the past documented, can advance to possible stages of reflection for the investigation. This thesis looks for, in the best of the cases, stimulate an academic culture inside a School of training, or in the most modest open the debate on 5 the future of an academy that do not reduce his dynamism to the market, that means, surrender to the labour demand to form only journalists that satisfy it.
