Diseño arquitectónico del Mercado Artesanal Arenas y propuesta de mejoramiento urbano del entorno inmediato

Abstract

En los distintos tipos de mercados que existen en la ciudad de Quito; podemos encontrar un singular mercado de pulgas, que recoge la historia de la Ciudad. El barrio en el que fue asentado este mercado muestra algunas características de la época republicana; como son las casas antiguas, las calles angostas y empedradas, la famosa calle conocida como la Guaragua, que denotan la belleza de este lugar. Debido a que el Mercado se implantó en este sector, las actividades del barrio fueron cambiando, convirtiéndolo así en una zona comercial y por la falta de planificación del reasentamiento se generó una serie de problemas en el barrio; como es la escasez de parqueaderos que provoca un caos vial, falta de conservación en su imagen urbana, y la deficiencia de espacio para la realización de las actividades. Para mantener la tradición propia que caracteriza al mercado Artesanal Arenas, se propone diseñar un objeto urbano-arquitectónico destinado al comercio, que represente un nuevo referente urbano, que interactúe con su entorno, que llegue a comunicarse no solo de una forma visual sino también funcional, que brinde calidad de imagen y que se pueda marcar un orden en el comercio; haciendo que los habitantes se apropien del lugar sin olvidar el bienestar humano.

In the different types of markets that exist in the city Quito; We can find a unique market of Fleas, which collects the history of the City. The neighborhood in which this market was established shows some characteristics of the republican era; as they are the old houses, the narrow and cobbled streets, the famous street known as La Guaragua, which denote the beauty of this place. Because the Market was implanted in this sector, the neighborhood activities were changing, making it in a commercial zone and due to the lack of planning resettlement generated a series of problems in the neighborhood; as it is the shortage of parking that causes a road chaos, lack of conservation in its urban image, and the deficiency of space for carrying out activities. To maintain the tradition that characterizes the Artesanal Arenas market, it is proposed to design an object urban-architectural for trade, representing a new urban reference, that interacts with its surroundings, that comes to communicate not only in a visual way but also functional, that provides image quality and that can mark an order in the trade; making the inhabitants take ownership of the place without forgetting the welfare human.
