Abstract: La Universidad Internacional Sek, es una institución educativa, presente en Ecuador, España y Chile. En el Ecuador se radicó en el año de 1993 y actualmente cuenta con dos campus, Juan Montalvo y Miguel de Cervantes ubicados en la ciudad de Quito. El análisis de la cultura organizacional de la universidad permite determinar el manejo de comunicación y la asimilación de la identidad, valores, normas y ritos por parte de los públicos internos y como esto ha afectado a la imagen corporativa de la institución. La comunicación es un proceso intrínsicamente humano y necesario para vivir, está presente en todos los procesos de la vida cotidiana, todo lo que está en el entorno comunica, y es indispensable en cualquier actividad. Desde que se crearon las organizaciones se ha resaltado la importancia de la comunicación y se ha establecido una interdependencia. La comunicación especializada en empresas, organizaciones y corporaciones se denomina comunicación organizacional, que es el conjunto de mensajes, estrategias y actividades que facilitan el intercambio, influyen en la percepción, actitudes, conductas y opiniones, tanto en los públicos internos como externos. La cultura, eje fundamental de la comunicación organizacional, es el conjunto de normas, valores, creencias, y principios que definen el comportamiento de los miembros de la organización; la cultura se forma con la convivencia diaria y a partir de la ideología organizacional. Determina el funcionamiento de las organizaciones porque aquí se ven reflejados los procesos, la identidad e imagen. El análisis de la cultura organizacional de la Universidad Internacional Sek, permite determinar las fortalezas y falencias dentro de la institución y cómo el público interno la percibe. La UISEK es una universidad tradicionalista, apegada a los valores y burocrática, al tener un organigrama vertical, poco flexible, se centra en el cumplimiento de metas por lo que se le ha considerado como una cultura de misión, lo que produce una asimilación cultural débil disfuncional, provocando una falta de identidad y baja asimilación de la imagen corporativa proyectada.
Description: Sek international University is an educational institution with sites in Ecuador, Spain and Chile. Established in Ecuador in 1993, nowadays, it has two campus located in Quito city, called Juan Montalvo and Miguel de Cervantes. Through the analysis of the organizational culture of the university, the management of communication and the assimilation of identity, values, norms, and rituals by the internal audiences can be determinates an furthermore the resulting affects on its corporate image. Communication is a process intrinsically human and necessary to live and everyday it is present in all processes. Everything that is in the environment communicates and also is indispensable in any activity. The importance of communication has been emphasized since the establishment of organizations and the interdependence between them too. Specialized communication in companies, organizations and corporations is called organizational communication, which is the set of messages, strategies and activities that facilitate the exchange between and affect the perception, attitudes, behaviors and opinions, of both internal and external audiences. The culture, which is the center of the organizational communication, is the set of norms, values, beliefs and principles that define the behavior of the members of the organization. The culture is created with the daily living and based on the organizational ideology. It determines the functioning of organizations because here are reflected processes, identity and image. The analysis of the organizational culture at the Sek International University, allows the determination of the strengths and weaknesses within the institution and how the public internal perceives it. The UISEK is a traditional university, it is attached to the values and bureaucracy, it has a vertical inflexible Organization Flow Chart, it focuses on the achievement of goals, that is why is considerate as a culture of mission, resulting in a weak dysfunctional culture, causing a lack of identity and projecting a low assimilation of the corporate image.
